Welcome to the Miami Beach Community which is a part of the United Church of Christ. Located on the Lincoln Mall, in the heart of Miami Beach, this congregation is a gathering of individuals who have found their way here from around the world and broad experiences of life. Throughout the week and especially on Sunday during the time of studying scripture, the Service of Worship and the time of fellowship of God’s people, this community of faith has the privilege to serve people from various nations who are visiting Miami Beach. Together, we have the opportunity to experience a community of faith which is diverse in background and lifestyle, yet strong in the Christian tradition and most importantly, is open to the understanding of the United Church of Christ which believes that "God is still speaking…" to us in our day.

..A new kind of church with an old tradition...

Following the retirement of the Reverend Dr. Garth R. Thompson, who served the church for thirty seven years, on October 2, 2011 (World Communion Sunday); the Reverend Earl W. Keirstead became the Interim Pastor.

In his letter of introduction to The Community Church, he stated that, "During this time of transition together, we will remember the accomplishments of the past; see where you are as a congregation in the present and explore where you as a faith community would like to be in the future. We will do this by listening to one another and continuing to affirm what the United Church of Christ believes, "God is still speaking". Together, we will seek where God’s word and spirit is leading the Miami Beach Community Church in the future."

If you are visiting the area of Miami Beach, we encourage you to take time to be with us on Sunday so that we may worship God together. Should you be looking for a place to make a commitment to be a part of a community of faith to worship God and learn of God’s will for you in the world today, we encourage you to join with us as we continue to seek a growing presence of God in our lives and the lives of those around us, as well as the community at large. Gather with us and listen for God’s voice in the music presented, the prayers spoken silently, as well as aloud, the scripture read, the word preached and the Sacraments shared, all to the glory of God whose unconditional love has been so wondrously revealed to us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

With the United Church of Christ, we affirm:

"No matter who you are

or where you are on life’s journey,

you are welcome here."

Let us remember the motto:

       …in essentials – UNITY …in non-essentials – LIBERTY …in all things – CHARITY (LOVE)
